It’s one small step for Laura, one giant leap for…whatever

I have to admit, one of my favorite things about the “Iron Man” movies is seeing the sleek and stylish workwear Gwyneth Paltrow gets to wear. Yes, I know the entire point of “Iron Man” is to see Robert Downey Jr. be snarky and blow stuff up, but I have estrogen and I appreciate the ladies’ costumes. (Especially Scarlett Johansson’s gray dress from “Iron Man 2,” but I can’t find a picture of it.)

We saw “Iron Man 2″ on opening night and I got to hang out with Linnaea at Washington Square the next day. I was looking for cardigans. Maybe a couple practical t-shirts. Instead I found this belt:

Five dollars at Forever 21. I’ve been trying to find a good waist-belt for a long time, in hopes of finally accomplishing the belted-tunic look. This was its trial run, and I think it was pretty successful.

Even if it wasn’t, it was only five bucks. Hard to argue with that.

  1. I don’t know how much estrogen I have, but I too was impressed with the wardrobe of Pepper Pots. The second outfit you linked, the one she wore to the race: that one was my favorite. I have to say though, I was disappointed with how they took her hair’s vividness down a notch.

What a cute waist belt! That was seriously only five bucks? They sell things for that little at Forever 21? Score. Plus, though it’s simple as far as color schemes go, there’s nothing quite so sharp as a good black and white outfit (says I).

    • Forever 21 is chock full of cheap, trendy stuff. Most of their jewelry costs around $3, and an “expensive” shirt costs $20. A lot of it is hideous, and the store has the worst arrangement of any I’ve ever seen, but if you can manage to find something good it’ll probably be worth it.
