Today’s visual Fashion Beauty Friend Friday is hosted by JK from Adimpleate. The topic: create an outfit based on a favorite song.
This sounded challenging, but it turned out to be practically impossible. None of my favorite songs do anything so convenient as mention colors, or time periods, or aesthetic styles, or anything that would aid in constructing an outfit. The closest I could come was “Tiny Bribes” by Death Cab For Cutie, which references a cardigan and fake glasses. There were several problems with that, specifically 1) I don’t own or wear fake glasses, 2) cardigans are not the most exciting bases for an outfit, and 3) it’s 90 degrees this week. The only cardigan I was interested in wearing was one with a built-in A/C system.
Then I found “The Vikings Have Their Tea” by Sigur Ros (from the “How To Train Your Dragon” soundtrack) and, weirdly enough, things started to come together. The theme: what you’d wear to a tea party at which you may have to kick some ass.

I love how creative you were with the theme and your outfit! Your tights are super cute.
I bet you could totally kick some ass in those boots!
Hi Laura,
Thanks for participating this week visual FBFF. Yes the theme might challenging, I enjoy reading participants thinking/creative process interpreting their favorite song.
I envy those tights, girl!!
Thanks again.
J.
Those boots! With those tights! I am doubleplus envious, and I think those boots might have actually showed up in a dream I had last night. Seriously.
For an abstract idea, you did a great job! You look like you could bust some heads in and then go back to sipping your Earl Grey.
