bless ’em, they try

One of my tasks at work is to update my boss’s blog.  This entails posting the articles he sends me and keeping the spam folder under control.  The blog tends to get between five and ten spam comments per day, and since I schedule most posts in advance, I usually check in on the blog every few days and discover a pile of 70 comments waiting to be obliterated.

Honestly, going through the spam folder is one of the highlights of my day.  Spam has evolved beyond the  Nigerian prince and the offers for FrEe vIaGrA – the comments we get now can be extremely creative.

For example:

“Seriously, these gasoline costs are growing crazy. I’ll need to acquire a new pay day loan simply to be able to fill my very own truck every full week. This is now starting to get just plain ridiculous.”

I know, right?  My very own Jeep is just as bad.

“Keep functioning ,fantastic job!”

Why, thank you!  A blogger always likes to know her functions are appreciated.

“I am very interested in. May I ask to spoon feed the detail please?”

Ooh, not sure I can help you much – I’m only interested out.  Sorry.

“This is {my first visit to your site|the first time I have visited here|one of my favorite blogs|sites|websites. I found a lot of great|fascinating|interesting|amazing information|articles|posts|stuff in here. Wow, this guy is so impressed he couldn’t settle on just one set of descriptors!

“Pixels hand down a judgement! Crucial mural – so what happens to it now? You would exigency a GREAT living area

Regards, Joe”

Those pixels, always cracking down on a mural’s freedom of expression.  You lost me at “exigency,” though.

“Hey, you used to write great, but the last several posts have been kinda boring… I miss your great writings. Past few posts are just a bit out of track! come on!”

Okay, wait, really?  Insulting spam?  Good grief.
