30 Day Song Challenge: Day 6

Day 6: A song that reminds of you of somewhere.

Like yesterday, there are a ton of options for this prompt.  “Lake of Silver Bells” by Carbon Leaf will always remind me of graduation and my internship because I listened to it nonstop around that time.  Christmas carols will remind me of church.  “Naughty Girl” by Beyonce will always make me think of junior year fifth-period Graphic Arts because I hated that song and they played it on the radio constantly during that class.

But I’m going to go with “Alcohol” by Barenaked Ladies.  For senior year spring break, we road-tripped to Kevin’s house in northern California, equipped with walkie-talkies and an epic playlist containing Michael Jackson, Dr. Horrible and Disney soundtracks, Journey, The Ting Tings, and this song.

We didn’t pick it because we were planning on getting completely smashed – it’s just a funny song. Although there were some interesting wine-tasting incidents, mostly involving guessing a tasting guide’s accent and trying to sing along to Journey quietly enough that no one would notice.
